After we finished our backyard patio revamp, I wanted to build some cedar window boxes, using the leftover wood from the Adirondack Chairs. I designed them to be self-watering using some PVC pipe and short pieces of nylon rope. Fill up the PVC pipe with water from the top and the rope absorbs the water and feeds it into the soil. We bought some shade loving plants to plant in the boxes outside our kitchen window.
